Action to Tackle Air Pollution in Croydon

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Invitation - Action to Tackle Air Pollution in Croydon, 20th October 10.30 - 12.30.  Whitehorse Manor Schools - Brigstock Road site.  129-133 Brigstock Rd

As a school we are keen to keep building relationships with our local community and support action to tackle issues we face in our lives beyond the classroom. One such issue is air pollution, which you'll know is sadly a significant problem across London and in parts of Croydon too. Working with local Councillors in the London Road and Thornton Heath area - Cllr Muhammad Ali (Broad Green Ward); Cllrs Stuart King and Janet Campbell (West Thornton Ward) and Cllr Jamie Audsley (Bensham Manor Ward), we want to invite you to a public meeting to take action on this issue.

We hope you can join this fun and friendly event to understand the facts about air pollution in our area and shape the way forward for creating a clean and healthy Croydon. As a school leadership team we'll also be in touch with the councillors and work with you to take practical action too.

The event will enable everyone to:

1) Understand the situation and impact of air pollution in our borough

2) Explore possible solutions to tackle air pollution - especially around schools and for young people

3) Contribute to the design of Croydon's Air Quality Strategy and Action Plan

Kind regards

Ms R. Davis
