Principal Appointed
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Claudette Bergin as Principal of Harris Invictus Academy Croydon.
Claudette is a highly experienced Head of Academy, who joins us from the “outstanding” (Ofsted) Harris Academy South Norwood.
She said:
“I am proud to have recently been appointed as the new Principal of Harris Invictus Academy Croydon.
“Invictus has achieved so much already by gaining its ‘outstanding’ Ofsted judgement back in November 2016 and I intend to maintain these high standards as I lead the academy through its next exciting stage as we move into our brand new building.
“I feel very privileged to be appointed as your Principal, and the warm welcome I have received from the staff and students has only strengthened this feeling. I have spent the last 17 years teaching in a number of successful schools across South London, becoming a Lead Practitioner and Head of Department in English before joining Harris Academy South Norwood in 2009. For the past three years I have been working as Head of Academy, leading the school through its merger with Harris Academy Upper Norwood in 2014.
“My expectations of students, in terms of achievement and behaviour, are very high. I expect all members of Harris Invictus to uphold our core values, displaying hard work, good manners, smart uniform and academic achievement.
“There is so much to look forward to at Harris Invictus, as we move across to our amazing new building this September. I am sure that the brand new, exciting surroundings will only enhance every student’s enthusiasm and motivation to succeed here at Harris Invictus.
“The relationships between staff, students and parents are fundamental to the success of our academy. Working together will ensure that students enjoy their time at Harris Invictus, make outstanding progress and leave us as responsible, well qualified and self-confident young people, ready to make a valuable contribution to society.
“I look forward to working with you and your families”
