Years 7, 8 and 9: Book your online tutor-led academic review conversation

Dear Parents and Carers

Harris Invictus Academy are proud of the effort that each student and family has put in during this difficult period. Teachers and staff have worked hard to ensure each student has been able to access online learning and develop their knowledge.

To help support each family and student we are having an online tutor-led academic review conversation after half term, which will give you the opportunity to go through the progress of your child in the last few months.

The links associated for each year group below are for you to book a time slot with your child’s tutor to have a meeting through Microsoft Teams or a general call. It is very important that you select the correct tutor and choose an available slot to avoid missing this valuable opportunity for a 1-1 meeting. It is important that the student is also present in this meeting. The dates of the meeting days and link are as follows:

  • Year 7 – Wednesday 24th February 2021

  • Year 8 – Wednesday 31st March 2021

  • Year 9 – Wednesday 3rd March 2021

In Year 7 & 8, each meeting will be a 10-minute slot with your son/daughter’s tutor, with slots from 1pm to 5pm. We will suspend online lessons for this year group to facilitate these meetings, but work will be posted on TEAMS.

For Year 9, the day and meetings (15 minute slots) will run differently to allow enough time to choose your child’s GCSE options. The timings for appointments available for this meeting are shown below:

  • 8.30am-9:00am - Careers Assembly
  • 9:00am-10.30am - Tutor Feedback Session 1
  • 10.30am-11:00am - Break
  • 11:00am-12.30pm - Tutor Feedback Session 2
  • 12.30am-13.30pm - Lunch
  • 13.30pm-16:00pm Tutor feedback session 3
  • 16:00pm-16.30pm - Break
  • 16.30pm-18.30pm - Tutor Feedback Session 4

During the meeting, you will be given information on target grades, effort, subject specific comments, and an indication of whether your son/daughter is below, on or above target. We will also give you details around attendance.

Once the tutor has gone through these points, there will be an opportunity for a general discussion around your child’s progress. If for any reason you are unable to attend one of the allocated time slots, then please do let your child’s tutor know as soon as possible.

If you need any other support, please contact the Assistant Principal for your year group via the emails below:

Year 7 – Mr. Preston (

Year 8 – Mr. Corcoran (

Year 9 – Mr. Singh (

Once again, we appreciate all the hard work from staff, students, and families, and we hope to see you all very soon.
